We are a lighting consultant firm designing interior and exterior architectural and landscape lighting schemes for all sizes of residential and commercial installations, including for museum-quality art collections.
Established in 1983, our backgrounds in multi-disciplinary lighting design melded from theater, television, architectural and landscape lighting contribute to the unique solutions we find for typical lighting problems.
Our scope of work includes collaborating on the design process with owners, architects and designers, preparing digital lighting plans and details, Fixture, Programming and Load Schedules, and complete books of fixture and lamp specifications for project maintenance. We observe the electrical installation, and direct the aiming, setting of light levels and programmed presets, and the fine-tuning of the final lighting design.

Our philosophy is to light the beautiful things first, then add safety and task lighting, and finally fine tune and balance the compositions through dimming and programming. Often the best lighting is when it disappears, and the eye is instead most intrigued by the art work or garden or architecture or the beautiful view at hand. Our favorite lighting is very subtle & soft, be it on a portrait or an enormous copper beech tree.
